A design scheme of nondestructive testing system for magnetic flux leakage of steel wire rope with field programmable gate array (FPGA) as hardware core is proposed. The peripheral circuit is designed and the embedded IP soft core is configured. The software program of the testing system is written using C language and VHDL hardware description language. Experiments show that the system has the advantages of low power consumption, strong computing power, high precision and portability.
