JXTA is a general platform provided by SUN for developing P2P networks. JXTA defines a set of protocols that allow application developers, not network managers, to design network topology structures based on application requirements and implement peer-to-peer communication without having to consider the actual physical location of each node. Firewall technology brings data security but limits trusted data communication. IP address traversal can open a trusted channel on the firewall. This article introduces how to use JXTA to implement IP address traversal.
