The principle of the constancy of the speed of light is wrong. The theory of relativity is an erroneous theory based on an erroneous assumption. This paper proposes the principle of the variable speed of light: the speed of light can be changed. According to the principle of the variable speed of light, phenomena such as aberration, light bending, Doppler effect and gravitational redshift can be correctly explained. Key words: speed of light, variable speed of light, theory of relativity, aberration, light bending, Doppler effect, gravitational redshift 1. The principle of the constancy of the speed of light is wrong. 1. The Michelson-Morley interference experiment cannot prove that the speed of light is constant. The Michelson-Morley interference experiment proved that \"ether\" does not exist, but it cannot prove that the speed of light is constant. In fact, as long as the view that the speed of light relative to the light source is constant can well explain the zero result of the Michelson-Morley interference experiment. In the Michelson-Morley interference experiment, light is emitted from the electric lamp A, and the instrument device electric lamp A, glass S0, plane mirrors M1, M2 and tube T are all fixed on the earth (as shown in Figure 1).
