Logic Algebra and Logic Functions: This chapter mainly discusses the mathematics of analyzing and designing digital logic functions. First, we introduce the basic operations, basic formulas, common theorems and important rules in logic algebra; then we talk about the form and transformation of logic functions; finally, we introduce how to use formulas and theorems to simplify logic functions. §2.1 Three basic operations in logic algebra The basic operations of logic algebra are AND, OR, and NOT. To understand their meanings, let\'s first look at a simple example. Figure 2.1.1 shows the control circuit of three indicator lights. In the circuit of Figure (a), the indicator lights will only light up when both switches are closed at the same time; in the circuit of Figure (b), the indicator lights will light up as long as any one of the switches is closed; and in the circuit of Figure (c), the light will light up when the switch is open, but will not light up when the switch is closed.
