A crystal oscillator with amplitude control is designed for a 32 768 Hz real-time clock. The amplitude regulation loop adopts a source grounded oscillator to obtain high frequency stability and low power consumption. The use of MOS tube resistors effectively reduces the layout area. The circuit is implemented in a 0.35 μm, 5 V CMOS process, and the simulation and test results can meet the design requirements.
