Implementation of Serial to Ethernet Interface Converter Based on DS80C410

This paper introduces a design of a serial-to-Ethernet interface converter based on a high-performance 51-core network microcontroller. The network microcontroller DS80C410 is used, and the integrated MAC is used to connect to the Ethernet through the Ethernet transceiver. The data communication between the serial port and the Ethernet is realized through Java programming with the help of the TINI SDK software development kit. The serial-to-Ethernet interface converter enables the device with RS232/422/485 communication interface to transmit data streams with the Ethernet server, and the serial port device is monitored in real time through the Ethernet server. The rapid development of Internet hardware and software has made various electrical equipment, instruments and meters, and data acquisition and control equipment in the production process gradually move towards networking. The continuous development and integration of computer technology, measurement and control technology, network and communication technology is an inevitable trend. At present, Ethernet has been widely used in computer networks and has become an indispensable part of Internet links. In addition, Ethernet is generally based on the TCP/IP protocol, so that the entire network has only one interconnection communication protocol, which meets the requirements of all levels of the control system and is easy to achieve seamless connection with the Internet. Nowadays, most field devices communicate with the outside world through serial ports, and even serial ports are their only channel for communication with the outside world. The widespread use of serial port devices and the continuous demand for the ability of devices to access the Internet make it particularly important to realize the conversion from serial ports to Ethernet. The DS80C410 uses the integrated MAC to connect to Ethernet through the physical layer device, and the TINI SDK software development kit can easily realize the interface conversion from serial ports to Ethernet.
