A periodic signal is a signal that is defined within an interval and repeats itself at a certain time interval (period). If a periodic signal has a period of , an angular frequency, and satisfies the Dirichlet condition, then the periodic signal can be expanded into a Fourier series, which can be expressed as the sum of a series of sinusoidal or complex exponential signals of different frequencies. There are two types of Fourier series: triangular form and exponential form.
