In the DVB-T system, we first recall the constellation diagrams of the three modulations, QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM. We find that the characters between adjacent quadrants or within phase limits are equidistant, such as between characters 0011 and 0001, and between characters 0011 and 0111 in 16QAM modulation; between characters 001001 and 001011, and between characters 001001 and 101001 in 64QAM modulation. This mapping of characters is called uniform mapping, as shown in Figure 1.
