Traditional rectifiers are the main source of grid pollution. Three-phase voltage-type PWM rectifiers have the characteristics of constant output voltage, unity power factor operation, and can even realize power feedback to the grid. This paper mainly studies the three-phase voltage-type PWM rectifier, including the following aspects: principle, topology, mathematical model, control strategy and hardware implementation. Establishing a mathematical model is an effective means to study three-phase PWM rectifiers. Low-frequency and high-frequency mathematical models are established in the ABC stationary coordinate system, αβ stationary coordinate system and dq rotating coordinate system respectively. This paper mainly studies the two control strategies for PWM rectifiers: voltage vector oriented control and direct power control. Voltage vector oriented control includes indirect current control and direct current control. This paper introduces their principles respectively. Regarding direct current control, its simulation is established. A real model is proposed, and the method of digital realization is introduced. Since the harmonics of the grid voltage will deteriorate the working performance of the PWM rectifier, an improved method is studied and experimentally verified. The main features of the direct power control method are simple structure, fast dynamic response and good anti-interference performance. This paper introduces the concept of instantaneous power, the principle of direct power control and the method of voltage vector selection. Since the traditional switch state table is the main reason for the poor reactive power control effect, a method of transforming the switch state table is proposed. The simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of this method. Finally, a comparative study is made on the voltage vector oriented control strategy and the DC power control strategy. Regarding the hardware, the calculation method of the main circuit LC parameters, the design method of the second-order active filter, the main functions of DSP2407, and the drive and protection of IPM are introduced.
