              Network Planning for WLAN Network Planning for WLAN Ma Fengguo Duan Bin Sun Yaohui Abstract: Wireless LAN (WLAN) is evolving from a supplementary means of wired LAN to an operational public wireless LAN. The expansion of network deployment area, the increase in the number of users and the increase in network capacity make wireless network planning a prominent issue in the construction of public wireless LANs. This article focuses on the analysis of wireless network planning issues that are particularly involved in the application of 2.4GHz frequency band WLAN in hot spots, including frequency planning, coverage, power selection, interference avoidance and cell reuse. Wireless local area network (WLAN) was originally introduced as a supplement to wired LAN, providing wireless access network services for portable or fixed terminals in a very small area. The number of users and…
