Be careful not to damage the monitor. Do not place the screen surface on objects such as staplers or mice, as this can wear away the glass or damage the LCD substrate, voiding your warranty. Sliding or rubbing the monitor on your desk can scratch or damage the monitor surround and controls. To protect the monitor and screen, clear a flat, open area on your desk and place a soft object such as the bag the monitor came in on it to cushion it. Lay the screen face down on a flat, clean, cushioned surface. While holding the monitor steady on the desk, pull the monitor stand up and out. Orient the stand base sockets so they align with the ends of the stand arms and press them in until they click into place. Gently try to pull them apart to check that they are properly engaged. Carefully lift the monitor and place it upright on the stand on a flat surface.
