This paper takes the typical multivariable nonlinear system - ball-and-stick system as the research object, establishes its mathematical model using the Lagrange equation, and designs the controller of this nonlinear system using the state feedback method in modern control theory. No matter where the ball is on the stick or what the angle of the stick is, this control method can keep the ball stable at the center of the stick. The mathematical tool Matlab is used to simulate this process, and the results show the effectiveness of the state feedback method.
