By analyzing the dust size distribution, and on the basis of calculating the complex dielectric constants of dry sand and pure water, a calculation model for dust attenuation in microwave transmission is given using particle scattering theory. This model analyzes the attenuation of three different types of dust: explosion dust, vehicle-blown dust, and natural dust. Through the results of numerical calculations, the change of dust attenuation rate with microwave frequency under different water contents is simulated, and relevant conclusions are finally given.
