In order to solve the commutation problem of bidirectional switches in power electronic devices, a commutation strategy of \"four-quadrant commutation\" can be adopted, namely \"four-step commutation\". This method divides the commutation process between two bidirectional switches into four steps according to the relative magnitude of voltage or the direction of current, effectively avoiding faults during the commutation process and achieving truly safe commutation. This paper takes a single-phase AC/AC Buck converter as an example to study the four-step commutation control strategy of the bidirectional switch, designs a specific implementation circuit, and verifies it with experiments.
