Ten years ago, I was designing optical instruments in a research institute in Xi\'an, but the several \"products\" I developed could not find a market. One night after working overtime, several people in the research room got together to drink, and one of them suddenly had an idea: I heard that Huawei\'s products had received deposits from customers before they were developed, so why not go over and learn from them? With Huawei\'s sales capabilities, we can also run a decent company. On October 20, 1996, I entered Huawei with this now-naive idea. It was agreed that the \"internship\" period was 12 months, but I didn\'t expect to leave in September 2002. The first time I had a private conversation with Ren Zhengfei was when Ren went to Hefei for an inspection in September 1997. In Anhui Hotel, Ren first asked me about my personal experience, and then we discussed the development ideas of the University of Science and Technology of China-Huawei Information Technology Research Institute. That night, I was impressed that Ren Zhengfei was a gentle and generous elder. Of course, this feeling did not last long. After being transferred to the Human Resources Department in early 1998, I began to personally experience the more real side of Ren. During the first meeting in Ren\'s general office, he loudly scolded me: \"Wu Jianguo, you need to understand who you are serving!\" His harsh management style made it difficult for a bookish newcomer like me to adapt. Fortunately, I had a few friends who had worked at Huawei for many years and helped me get through that \"tortured\" period.
