Progress and Prospects of Domestic Integrated Circuit IP Core Standards

Integrated circuits are the foundation of the information industry. The rapid development of the information industry in the 21st century has led to the rapid development of integrated circuits. SoC, which is supported by software-hardware co-design, IP core reuse and ultra-deep submicron technology, has become the development direction of today\'s ultra-large-scale integrated circuits and the mainstream technology of integrated circuits. SoC design faces many challenges, among which the reuse of IP cores is the most critical. According to Dataquest statistics, IP cores have become an industry. In 2005, 80% of global SoC designs were designed mainly based on IP cores. IP cores have become the fastest growing part of the integrated circuit industry. In 1998, the global IP core sales were US$360 million, US$420 million in 1999, US$620 million in 2000, and US$2.94 billion in 2004. It is expected that this year, its sales will reach US$34.7 billion. Although the top five companies in IP core sales are ARM, Rambus, TTPCom, Synopsys, MIPS, etc., we also noticed that there are also domestic companies with IP cores as their main products, such as Sichuan Dengdian Microelectronics, Xinyuan Microelectronics, Suzhou Guoxin, Zhixin Technology and Loongson\'s CPU, so IP cores have become the focus of industry attention.
