This paper analyzes the installation problem of the upper radial air leakage gap control actuator of the rotary air preheater of the 300MW boiler in the coal-fired thermal power plant. The mechanical structure of the gap control actuator is introduced, and the installation process and precautions are described in detail. The principle of PLC programming control of the upper movable fan plate is also introduced. This paper has certain guiding significance and reference value for the installation stage of the electric power construction and the later operation, thermal control inspection and maintenance of the thermal power plant. The rotary air preheater is a flue gas tail heat exchange device commonly used on large boilers in thermal power plants. Compared with the tubular air preheater, the rotary air preheater has the characteristics of compact structure, small size, high heat exchange surface density, light weight, low metal consumption, easy installation and layout, and less low-temperature corrosion than the tubular heat exchanger, which is suitable for use on large boilers. However, the disadvantage of the rotary air preheater is that the air leakage is large, which is 6% to 8% when the working conditions are good and 20% to 30% when the sealing is poor, which is greater than the air leakage of the tubular heat exchanger below 5%. In addition, the rotary air preheater has a complex structure, high manufacturing process and installation requirements, a large workload for operation and maintenance, and is difficult to automatically control in hot state. A higher amount of air leakage causes a decrease in the air pressure at the preheater inlet, an increase in the fan current, an increase in the excess air coefficient after the preheater, a decrease in the exhaust gas temperature at the tail end, a decrease in the boiler thermal efficiency, an increase in coal consumption, and the boiler cannot reach the rated load. Therefore, it is particularly important to control the air leakage of the rotary air preheater in hot state, and the installation problem of the gap control actuator of the automatic tracking system in the upper radial leakage control system is particularly prominent.
