Today\'s radars are all detected on the basis of multi-pulse observation. After accumulating multiple pulses, the signal-to-noise ratio can be effectively improved, thereby improving the detection capability of the radar. The accumulation process can be completed before envelope detection, which is called pre-detection accumulation or intermediate frequency accumulation. When the signal is accumulated at the intermediate frequency, a strict phase relationship between the signals is required, that is, the signals are coherent, so it is also called coherent accumulation. In addition, the accumulation process can be completed after envelope detection, which is called post-detection accumulation or video accumulation. Since the signal loses its phase information after envelope detection and only retains the amplitude information, the post-detection accumulation process does not require a strict phase relationship between the signals, so this accumulation is also called non-coherent accumulation. There are many ways to achieve non-coherent accumulation, such as tapped delay line integrators (FIR integrators) and feedback integrators.
