Node-to-node ranging is one of the key technologies of distance-based positioning algorithms in wireless sensor networks. In order to reduce node costs and improve ranging accuracy, this paper proposes to use ultrasonic non-reflective ranging technology to achieve ranging of WSN nodes. Using the laboratory-made ultrasonic transceiver module and JN5148 development board as the hardware platform, ranging experiments were carried out in the laboratory and the corridor of the teaching building. The experimental results show that the ranging system can achieve high ranging accuracy and provide reliable distance information for the positioning of wireless sensor networks.
