A new type of ultrasonic detection technology for pipeline corrosion Low-frequency ultrasonic guided wave technology has been developed and applied to rapid monitoring of pipelines to detect internal and external corrosion of pipelines. The advantage of this technology is the long distance, from one test point, each detection direction can reach 30 meters or more. The advantages of using this detection technology are: − Low cost, no need to remove the insulation layer except the location where the probe is installed, thus avoiding removal and restoration; − Ability to detect inaccessible locations, such as under the collar, casing or buried pipelines; − Detect the wall thickness of the entire pipeline, so 100% inspection can be achieved.
