[Abstract] A kind of power supply which can deliver a higher power from off-hook phoneline is introduced in this paper. It can be used to eliminate the extra external powersupply and battery in IC card pay phone, multi-functional phone, and a host of smallequipment which is used to communicate with phone line.[Key words] telephone, power supply, Ordinary DC-DC telephones only need a small amount of power to meet the requirements of normal calls. The power supply of the switch and a simple parallel or series linear voltage regulator circuit can provide a few milliamperes of current to drive the call circuit. However, for many new multi-functional telephones or more complex equipment that use the public switching network for remote communication, a few milliamperes of power supply current cannot meet the requirements. If external power supply or battery power supply is used, it will not only increase the cost but also bring inconvenience to users. The most ideal solution is to obtain system power from line power supply. However, the current that the switch can provide to users is limited, generally between 18mA and 50mA. The line impedance varies in a wide range, and in severe cases it can reach more than one thousand ohms. The traditional power supply circuit cannot obtain sufficient power output. However, a careful analysis of the power supply structure of the switch to the user line will show that it is still possible to obtain a larger power supply through user line power supply within the range of meeting the requirements of normal communication specifications. The following briefly describes its working principle and circuit structure.
