The topology design of switched Ethernet networks is a constrained optimization problem that requires considering multiple constraints at the same time. Two main criteria are defined in this paper: switch load balancing and traffic shortest path. The weight of each criterion is measured according to the design goal, and the topology is scored to design the network topology. This method takes the network traffic demand matrix between terminal nodes and the traffic priority matrix between terminal devices as input, uses genetic algorithms to find the optimal topology from all topologies, and determines the switch spanning tree topology and the distribution location of terminal nodes. The effectiveness of this method can be proved through network simulation.
