This paper mainly discusses the research progress of silicon photonic devices such as polarization diversity optical paths, adjustable optical attenuators, and waveguide-coupled germanium photodetectors, and analyzes their structures and technical parameters. It then discusses two silicon-based monolithic integration technologies, VOA-PD monolithic integration technology and VMUX monolithic integration technology, and points out that the performance indicators of silicon photonic devices can already meet the requirements of modern fiber-optic communication systems.
