In many fields such as image processing, aerospace, remote sensing measurement, and modern electronic testing, it is required that test instruments and equipment can save original test data in time for subsequent data analysis and processing. At the same time, the improvement of the performance of the front-end detector has put forward higher requirements for the storage capacity, volume, cost, stability, etc. of various systems. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop a data storage system with reliable performance, small size, and low cost. This paper proposes a high-speed signal acquisition and storage system solution based on the ARM embedded processor + FPGA structure. The signal acquisition and storage system design was carried out. Its characteristics are high performance, low cost, and small size. The characteristics of ARM processor and FPGA programmable logic device are used in this paper to carry out hardware design based on this solution: FPGA software design. The PCB design and issues that need to be paid attention to during debugging are described. The hardware design of the system is based on ARM and FPGA as the platform. The ARM processor uses Samsung\'s S3C2410 and the FPGA uses Altera\'s EP2C8. The hardware design revolves around the core chip, and the power supply design and ARM and FPGA peripheral circuit design are carried out. The ARM processor realizes the control of the system; the FPGA, as a coprocessor, realizes FIFO, some interfaces, timing control, etc., to assist ARM in data collection. Implementing hardware circuits in FPGA simplifies peripheral circuits, makes design flexible, development and debugging convenient, and improves system reliability. The system software operating system uses Linux. Based on the characteristics of the embedded Linux operating system, the real-time performance of the system is analyzed. Then the user interface application based on Qt on the Linux platform is designed. Finally, the system test results are analyzed, and the existing problems and improvement methods are pointed out.
