At present, embedded browsers have gradually become the standard for high-end mobile phones and PDAs. Konqueror/embedded has been widely used as the preferred browser for embedded Linux operating systems. However, since the browser is free software, it is difficult to port it to a specific embedded platform. This article mainly introduces the entire porting and Chinese translation process of Konqueror/embedded to the ARM-Linux platform for engineers to refer to and use. The structure of Konqueror/embedded Konqueror/embedded is composed of underlying network connections, graphical user interfaces, and the engine KHTML that handles HTML drawing. The underlying communication protocol is implemented based on the KIO/slave mechanism; the GUI interface uses Kparts assembly technology and Qt basic components; and as the core of Konqueror/embedded, KHTML uses the API interface provided by the Document Object Model (DOM) and hangs the javascript engine, CSS parser, and rendering engine on the DOM tree. The hierarchical structure of Konqueror/embedded is shown in Figure 1.
