In order to improve the training level of the engineering corps mechanical unit, a virtual training system for the mechanical unit based on the high-level architecture (HLA) was proposed. According to the software engineering method model for developing distributed interactive simulation, the federated concept model, federated object model and simulation object model were designed and developed, and a prototype system was implemented based on MÄK RTI and Delta3D. The operation results show that the design better reflects the reusability and interoperability of HLA. Keywords: high-level architecture; engineering mechanical unit; virtual training
