With the progress of society and the rapid growth of mobile users, the third generation of mobile communications has received more and more attention from all walks of life. Multi-user detection technology is one of the important technologies in the third generation of mobile communications; conventional CDMA receivers use a matched filter structure, but this structure of the receiver does not take into account the existence of multiple access interference in the channel, so as to reduce the influence between each other to improve the system capacity; and the power control method does not really remove the multiple access interference from the received signal, which can only alleviate this contradiction, but cannot fundamentally solve the problem. In order to truly eliminate interference and significantly increase the system capacity, multiple access cancellation and multi-user detection technology must be used. This paper first introduces the basic principles of CDMA and the basic principles of multi-user detection. Then, it focuses on introducing and analyzing the principles of various multi-user detection, and then compares various multi-user detection methods based on the four technical indicators of multi-user detection, and selects a decorrelation detector with simple implementation and superior performance as the target algorithm for implementation. Then, this paper focuses on studying and analyzing the principle of the decorrelation detector, and gives the system design process for implementing the decorrelation detector, including the construction of hardware circuits and software implementation methods. The hardware circuit is based on DSP (TI\'s TMS320C5402) and FPGA (Altera\'s EP1K10Q208-3). The software part is mainly completed in C language. This paper systematically studies the multi-user detection technology and realizes the understanding of related algorithms, which has certain value in theoretical research and practical application.
