The insulation structure of H-class high-voltage three-phase asynchronous motors was discussed. It was found that the use of silicone glass cloth reinforced mica tape or epoxy diphenyl ether glass cloth reinforced mica tape for the main insulation of stator coils at voltage levels of 6kV and above would seriously affect the normal and hot dielectric losses of the stator coils and shorten the electrothermal aging life of the coil insulation. Therefore, new H-class mica tapes or other H-class mica tapes should be used.
