This paper takes the development process of NL\'s POS machine as the background. Based on the analysis of the current new product development model and the characteristics and development status of embedded systems, it points out the problems of weak productization capability, poor customer demand management, and development progress in the development process of NL\'s POS machine. In view of these problems, the paper fully draws on various tools and ideas for optimizing the management of information product development process in the current information industry in theory, and proposes the application of the IPD model in solving the development problems of POS machines: redesigning the customer demand management and verification process and adopting the cross-platform three-stage operation specification. On this basis, combined with the new POS machine development process and the actual situation of NL\'s organizational structure, the functions and organizational structure of the company\'s two types of PDT, performance appraisal methods, and the role of integrated information environment in the implementation of IPD are analyzed. Finally, by comparing the POS products completed under two different development models, it proves the role of IPD in shortening the development cycle and reducing development costs. This paper discusses the application of the IPD model in the development process of POS machines. The paper studies the implementation of parallel development and the control method of engineering progress in combination with the company\'s situation. Using the IPD theory, it focuses on solving practical problems such as customer demand customization and long engineering time in the development process.
