When the boiler load was greater than 28t/h, the air preheater suddenly emitted strong vibration and noise, causing the boiler operator to work in a very bad environment. The insulation layer outside the air preheater tube box soon began to crack and fall off. The plant was forced to reduce the load to operate the boiler, causing great economic losses. Through careful analysis and calculation, it was concluded that the reason for the vibration and noise of the air preheater was that when the flue gas flowed through the staggered tube bundle of the air preheater, a vortex was generated. The regular detachment frequency of the vortex was coupled with the frequency of a certain order of acoustic standing waves in the tube box. The order of standing waves was excited, and the air preheater produced strong vibration and noise.
