With the development of fieldbus technology and computer peripheral interface technology, there are more solutions for fast and effective connection between fieldbus and computer. USB, as a new interface technology, is favored for its simple and easy use and fast speed. This paper briefly proposes a connection scheme between USB interface and CAN bus, and discusses the hardware composition, firmware development and driver of the system. Keywords: fieldbus; USB; CAN bus With the rapid development of information technology, the real-time acquisition and processing of various data have become an indispensable part in modern industrial control. This requires that the interface we design is simple and flexible and has a high data transmission rate. Fieldbus is a digital, bidirectional, multi-branch structure communication network that connects intelligent field equipment and automation systems. How to interconnect it with PC safely, reliably and at low cost is an urgent problem to be solved. The traditional communication interface between peripherals and hosts is difficult to meet the above requirements. These interfaces generally use PCI bus or RS-232 serial bus. Although PCI bus has a high transmission rate (up to 132Mbps), their expansion slots are quite limited and the design is complex. RS-232 serial bus is easy to connect, but its bandwidth is very limited and the transmission speed is slow. USB technology is a fast, bidirectional, synchronous transmission, cheap and hot-swappable universal serial bus proposed in response to this requirement. It also provides a built-in power supply that can provide 5 volts of power to low-voltage devices. It is precisely because of these characteristics of USB that it has been widely used. CAN bus is a serial communication network that effectively supports distributed control or real-time control of the field bus. It has excellent characteristics and extremely high reliability. It is particularly suitable for the interconnection of industrial process monitoring equipment and is recognized as one of the most promising field device buses. The purpose of the entire system design is to design an adapter that can quickly transfer CAN bus data to the PC through the USB interface for processing and analysis, and can also use it to transmit data or commands to the CAN node to realize the communication between the computer and the field equipment.
