Contents of power electronics technology Power electronics, also known as power electronics (Power Electronics). It mainly studies various power electronic devices, as well as various circuits or devices composed of these power electronic devices, to complete the conversion and control of electric energy. It is both a branch of electronics in the field of strong electricity (high voltage, high current) or electrical engineering, and a branch of electrical engineering in the field of weak electricity (low voltage, low current) or electronics, or a new science that combines strong and weak electricity. Power electronics is an emerging engineering and technical discipline that spans the three fields of \"electronics\", \"power\" and \"control\". Electricity is divided into two categories: direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). The former has different voltage amplitude and polarity, while the latter has differences in frequency and phase in addition to voltage amplitude and polarity. In practical applications, it is often necessary to convert between two types of electric energy, or one or more parameters of the same type of electric energy (such as voltage, current, frequency and power factor, etc.). There are four types of converters: AC-DC conversion: converting AC into DC. Direct current-alternating current (DC-AC) conversion: converts direct current into alternating current. This is the opposite conversion to rectification, also known as inversion. When the output is connected to the grid, it is called active inversion; when the output is connected to the load, it is called passive inversion. Alternating current (AC-AC) conversion, converts the parameters (amplitude or frequency) of alternating current energy. Among them: changing the effective value of alternating current voltage is called alternating current voltage regulation; directly converting industrial frequency alternating current into alternating current of other frequencies is called alternating current-alternating current frequency conversion. Direct current-direct current (DC-DC) conversion, converts constant direct current into intermittent pulse output to change its average value. 2. Development of power electronics technology Before the advent of power electronics, power conversion was achieved by rotating units. Compared with these rotating AC units, static power converters composed of power electronics have the advantages of small size, light weight, no mechanical noise and wear, high efficiency, easy control, fast response and convenient use.
