Balanced audio technology is nothing new. It was invented in the early days of the telephone, allowing voice information to be transmitted over long distances with low noise levels. This is why balanced signal transmission is still used in high-end audio systems: it allows us to transmit information (audio signals) in a way that is resistant to noise and distortion. Two sets of mirror-symmetrical, opposite-phase signals are transmitted simultaneously. In other words, the two signals do not actually carry audio information, but the voltage difference between them.
