X9221A X9221A integrates two digitally controlled potentiometers XDCP in a single CMOS microcircuit. The digitally controlled potentiometer consists of 63 resistor units connected in series in an array. Each unit has a tap point connected to the wiper through a switch. The position of the wiper in the array is controlled by the user through a two-wire bus interface. Each potentiometer is equipped with a volatile wiper count register WCR and two non-volatile data registers (DR0 DR1). The two data registers can be directly written or read by the user. The position of the wiper in the resistor array is controlled by switches. The content of DR0 is reset to WCR at power-up. XDCP can be used as a three-terminal potentiometer or a two-terminal variable resistor. It has a wide range of applications, including control parameter adjustment and signal processing.
