Using PLC communication to control the frequency converter is an economical and reliable control method. Currently, the most common communication forms are MODBUS and free protocol. The former is simple to program, but the frequency converter must support the MODBUS protocol, which has great limitations. Although the latter is complex to program, it can implement user-defined communication protocols to connect a variety of intelligent devices. Free port communication is a very distinctive feature of FATEK PLC, which enables FATEK PLC to communicate with other devices and controllers with any open communication protocol. This article mainly proposes some insights and solutions on the difficulty of how to arbitrarily modify the frequency of the frequency converter in the process of controlling the frequency converter by PLC free port communication.
