Node.js is a new technology that is still in the ascendant. It was born in 2009. After two years of rapid changes, the Node.js ecosystem has gradually stabilized. Node.js uses technologies that are very rare in similar languages and frameworks in the past. The key words are: non-blocking control flow, asynchronous I/O, and single-threaded message loop. Many developers always have to go through a painful process of changing their mindset when they get started, which brings huge obstacles to learning. The purpose of this book is to help readers clear these obstacles, learn to use Node.js for Web backend development, and master the event-driven asynchronous programming style in order to further utilize the advanced features of Node.js.
