The U36D series is ideal for inverter applications requiring high ripple current capabilities. With the
extended voltage range through 550 volts, the number of capacitors in series can now be reduced. All
dimensions are based on the original 36D case sizes which are in inches. A stud mount can is
available upon request.
Summary of Specifications
Screw terminals, high, low, English and Metric; stud mount also available.
Capacitance range: 68µF to 2.2F.
Voltage range: 6.3 to 550VDC.
Operating temperature range: 40 C to 85 C.
Leakage current: 0.02CV(µA) or 5mA, whichever is smaller, after 5 minutes at

Life Validation Test
The following specifications shall be satisfied when the capacitors are restored to 25 C after
subjecting them to the DC rated voltage for 2,000 hours at 85 C with the rated ripple current
applied.

Shelf Test
The following specifications shall be satisfied when the capacitors are restored to 25 C after
exposing them for 500 hours at 85 C without voltage applied. The rated voltage shall be
applied to the capacitors for a minimum of 30 minutes, at least 24 hours and not more than
48 hours before the measurements.
