Polyester Tapes 8991 and 8992 grab on
contact for reliable masking in most powder coat painting operations with baking at up to
400°F (204°C).
• Sharp, clean paint edge
• 8991 – 1.0 mil polyester backing and 1.4 mil silicone adhesive
• 8992 – 2.0 mil polyester backing and 1.2 mil silicone adhesive
• High dimensional and tensile strength ( 8992 – 37 lbs./in.) for tearing through cured paint
without slivering or breaking
• Resists shrinking, curling, and edge lifting but removes without adhesive residue
• Transparent blue (8991) and transparent dark green (8992) for identification and alignment
• Also used for masking in e-coating, electroplating, and anodizing
Clean removal, sharp paint edge.
