As shown in the figure is the 60Hz time base generating circuit. In many occasions, 60Hz has become a basic reference frequency, such as electronic clocks, timers, controllers, etc., all designed to use 60Hz as their working reference signal. Therefore, an independent 60Hz signal source is often needed for various portable or battery-powered circuits and for testing and development purposes. This circuit is composed of the integrated circuit MM5369 time base generator. This device requires an external crystal , which is cut according to the standard 3.579545MHz color TV "color sync signal" frequency. The output of the circuit is at two frequencies: 60Hz and 3.58MHz. The circuit can output the correct frequency with the help of a 5-50pF variable capacitor. This frequency can be monitored with a frequency meter or similar instrument.
