A typical application of a three-terminal integrated voltage regulator is shown in Figure 7-15. The figure (a) shows the application of the 78 series of integrated positive voltage stabilizing circuits, and the figure (b) shows the application circuit
of the 79 series of integrated negative voltage stabilizing circuits . As can be seen from the figure, its application circuit is very simple.
The rectified DC voltage is input into the integrated voltage regulator , and a stable DC voltage can be obtained at the output end.
The input capacitor G is used to improve the ripple of the power supply voltage. When the filter capacitor is far away from the voltage regulator, t must be connected to ci and
as close as possible to the pin of the voltage regulator. The output capacitor can improve the transient response characteristics, reduce the output impedance at high values, and
can be omitted when oscillation does not occur.
