The battery charger is an electronic device for charging rechargeable batteries used in electric vehicles, power tools, video games, notebooks, digital and small portable electronic equipment and electronic appliances . It generally consists of a casing, a power conversion part, a charging detection part, a charging protection part, etc.
Here we introduce an automatic battery charger to you. This is a simple, automated battery charger that consists of a thyristor 2P4M ( SCR 1), a transistor BC337 (T1), a Zener diode ZD1 and a few discrete components.
Automatic battery charger circuit diagram
Connect one end of the charger's red and black alligator clips to the Zener diode's cathode and circuit ground respectively. To charge the battery, connect the red alligator clip to the positive terminal of the battery to be charged and the black alligator clip to the negative terminal of the battery to be charged. Connect the AC power supply, SCR1 is triggered by R1, and the battery starts charging. When the battery terminal voltage is charged to 12.6V, ZD1 breaks down and turns on, and the npn transistor T1 becomes forward biased and turns on, causing the gate of SCR1 to be grounded. SCR 1 is cut off and the battery stops charging.
Generally, you must first select the type, protection type, output voltage and current specifications of the corresponding charger based on the type and voltage of your own rechargeable battery, and then select a charger that meets the corresponding input conditions based on the city grid voltage. It is best to use a fully intelligent battery charger .
