Based on the analysis of the existing communication network of medium and low voltage substation automation system, according to the latest achievements of network technology development, a communication network based on embedded Ethernet for ultra-high voltage substation automation system
is proposed . This paper
analyzes and studies the two key issues of Ethernet application mode and transmission mode in substation automation system, selects packet broadcast mode as the transmission
mode, and UDP as the transport layer protocol of embedded Ethernet. The proposed scheme has been applied in engineering practice and achieved good results.
