Abstract: The integrated control chip that integrates PWM controller and MOSFET power switch is an important feature and trend of the new generation of switching power supply design. This article introduces the TOPSwitch series of three-terminal PWM/MOSFET two-in-one integrated control devices developed and launched by Power Integrations Inc. in the mid-1990s and its application in switching power supply design. It also introduces how to use EXCEL spreadsheets to design a high-frequency power transformer that matches TOPSwitch.
