Solar Controller [Copy link]

This post was last edited by bluefox0919 on 2018-7-27 16:01 I bought a set of solar panels and a matching controller with a 12V battery online. The solar panel is marked with 10W, 18V, and 0.56AH. In actual testing, it only got about 6.9V... I asked the store and they said that it was uniformly marked with 18V, but there were actually three specifications sold with 6V specifications, and they asked me to buy a 6V battery again. After purchasing, I found that the operating voltage of the controller was 12V, and then the manufacturer disappeared... Now I can only choose to test it, 1. Boost the solar panel to more than 13V, 2. Boost the 6V battery output to 12V, and then find a way to charge it with solar energy. 3. Disassemble the circuit to find the ADC part of the circuit to change the voltage divider resistor, but I am afraid that the battery will not boost the voltage, and then the battery will not be able to push the controller's voltage stabilization circuit. I don't have enough experience, I would like to ask: Can the solar panel be increased from 6V to 13V or above, and the current loss is not too large? Or is there an IC that can increase 6V to 12V, and the power consumption is not too large? Or is there any other solution, thank you

If the purpose is just to learn, you can consider the boost solution. If you are making products, then change to 18V solar panels, which are more reliable than the boost circuit. 18v solar panels have a regular output voltage, should not be difficult to find, and the price is not high.  Details Published on 2018-8-1 14:20

Three solar panels connected in series can generate 18V voltage.

Currently, only one solar panel can be used, mainly because the size is limited by the organization and no more can be added. That's why I happily buy an 18V one...  Details Published on 2018-7-27 16:06

Three solar panels connected in series can get a voltage of 18 V. However, "then the manufacturer disappeared", which is not easy to deal with.

There are many 6V input boost chips on the Texas Instruments official website. Just enter your requirements and you can select the chip model.  Details Published on 2018-7-27 16:16
