AWR and CST Integrate 3D EM Software into Microwave Office [Copy link]

Applied Wave Research Inc., a provider of high-frequency electronic design automation ( EDA ) tools, recently announced that it has collaborated with Computer Simulation Technology (CST) of Darmstadt, Germany, to integrate CST MICROWAVE STUDIO 2006, a three-dimensional (3D) electromagnetic wave (EM) technology, into AWR's Microwave Office circuit design software suite. The collaboration is part of AWR's ongoing open systems strategy and its pursuit of staying at the forefront of providing the best EM tools for radio frequency (RF) and microwave design.

"CST's revolutionary technology is being used by market leaders around the world and will be an important option for designers using our Microwave Office software," said James Spoto, president and CEO of AWR. "Through this interface, our customers will have access to expert tools for fast and accurate 3D EM simulation to solve high-frequency design problems."

“Over the past few months, customer demand for this interface has grown significantly,” said Martin Timm, Product Marketing Manager at CST. “The integrated solution will help our mutual users achieve faster and better designs. We are pleased that we were able to deliver a solution in a relatively short time due to the open architecture of both tools.”

The AWR/CST interface is available free of charge to all users of CST MICROWAVE STUDIO 2006B and Microwave Office 2006 software. Product release of the interface is expected in the third quarter of 2006.
