International semiconductor industry veteran joins Wolfson as Vice President of Global Sales

Wolfson Microelectronics Limited ("Wolfson" or "the Company"), a leading supplier of mixed-signal semiconductor products for digital consumer electronics, has announced the appointment of Alistair Banham as Wolfson's Vice President of Global Sales, effective August 14 , 2006. Alistair will succeed Jim Reid , who has held the position for the past year while also overseeing existing business development. Alistair 's key objective will be to lead Wolfson's existing global sales strategy across its three key business units: Portable Products, Consumer Audio and Digital Imaging. Mr. Banham has 22 years of experience in the semiconductor market, having held various positions from sales management to operations. Prior to joining Wolfson, Mr. Banham served as Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager of Sales and Operations at Philips Semiconductors, responsible for driving revenue growth, entering new designs, and increasing market share in the mobile and personal communications, automotive, smart identification, consumer products and multi-market semiconductor fields in Europe, the Middle East and Africa ( EMEA ). Alistair joined Philips Semiconductors in 2002 from ON Semiconductor where he served as General Manager and President of EMEA . ON Semiconductor was formed in August 1999 through the acquisition of Motorola Semiconductor Components Group ( SCG ) in April 1999. Alistair had been with Motorola Semiconductor since 1992 .
