Royal Philips Electronics ( Nasdaq: PHG, AEX: PHI) recently announced that it has launched a near field communication (NFC) trial in Xiamen with Nokia, China Mobile Xiamen Branch, and Xiamen EZ-Link Card. 100 selected testers will use Nokia 3220 mobile phones to process secure electronic payment transactions in any restaurant, transportation system, cinema or convenience store that accepts Xiamen EZ-Link Card.
