The latest statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry on the 20th showed that by the end of June, the total number of telephone users in China exceeded 790 million, of which fixed-line telephones and mobile phones exceeded 365 million and 426 million respectively.

Figures show that in the first half of the year, the number of mobile phone users increased by 32.943 million, with an average monthly increase of 5.4905 million. The resulting number of mobile phone text messages sent also reached 202.96 billion, an increase of 45.8% over the same period last year. The mobile phone penetration rate has reached 32.7 per 100 people.

In addition, the number of fixed-line telephone users in the country increased by 14.868 million in the first half of the year, with an average monthly increase of 2.478 million, and the fixed-line telephone penetration rate reached 28 per 100 people.

According to statistics, the national postal and telecommunications revenue in the first half of the year reached 345.57 billion yuan, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year, of which postal revenue was 31.68 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3% over the same period last year; telecommunications revenue was 313.89 billion yuan, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year. The national telecommunications fixed asset investment was 84.87 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1% over the same period last year.
