In the mid-to-late 1990s, high-performance analog integrated circuits in the world mostly used 0.5-0.8 micron technology, while the mainstream technology in China only reached 2-3 microns. Since the beginning of 2000, the industrial production of analog integrated circuits in the world has developed from 0.5 microns to 0.35 microns, and the size of silicon wafers has changed from 6 inches to 8 inches.

On the sensitive issue of product market prospects, Guoteng Company provided information showing that many domestic design companies such as Datang, Southwest Integrated Circuit Design Company, and Huawei have the design capabilities of analog integrated circuits of about 0.5 microns, but the products currently designed are all processed abroad. This construction project will directly introduce a 6-inch 0.5-micron production line and related production processes and production management technologies. By then, analog integrated circuit chips at home and abroad can be mass-produced, and the production tasks of products sent abroad by domestic design companies can be undertaken, which is of great significance to improving the design and production level of analog integrated circuits in China.
