  . This 2006 "Entertainment Star" selection is the fifth in history. The selection awards are launched by the editorial department of "Digital Times". The selection items are divided according to product lines, and each product line is divided into two parts: one is brand selection, and the other is product selection.
  Brand selection is selected by readers' voting. There are two ways: online and offline. Sohu Digital World (digi.sohu.com) started a large-scale online survey in May. The offline survey includes campus questionnaires in six major regions across the country, on-site questionnaires in major electronic stores in Beijing, and questionnaires published in Digital Times.
  The product selection is conducted by senior editors of the Digital Times editorial department based on the products launched by manufacturers in the past six months, after evaluation and experience, and discussion and selection.

  The first Entertainment Star (then Hardware Star) was held in 2002.
  In the second Hardware Star selection, we put forward a slogan: I evaluate, you choose. The statement of "no evaluation, no right to speak" has been unanimously recognized by readers. This year, we still continue this rigorous approach. Almost all the selected products have been personally experienced and evaluated by editors (in the past six months, we have conducted a large-scale horizontal evaluation almost every two issues, and the machines sent for this evaluation have kept our editors busy).
  Starting from the third Hardware Star selection, we renamed the selection to "Entertainment Star", hoping to reflect the attention of Digital Times to digital entertainment.
  The selection usually starts in the spring of each year, and the final survey results are obtained through brand surveys on campus, on-site surveys in Beijing's five major supermarkets, and questionnaires on this newspaper and its partner websites. This year, we received more than 30,000 valid votes.

  - Award Description

  The brand selection is divided into: Readers' Choice and Excellent Brand Selection.
  Readers' Choice: The brand with the highest votes in this large-scale survey of this product line.
  Excellent Brand: Based on the survey votes, when the difference in the number of votes between the second and third brands in some product lines is not large, the selection committee will discuss based on the comprehensive performance of the manufacturer in the past six months, and in accordance with the principle of rigor and fairness, award one of the more excellent brands or two brands to the award together.
  The product selection is divided into: Editor's Recommendation Award, Best Value Award, and Best Creativity Award.
  Editor's Recommendation: The best product in this product line, with outstanding indicators.
  Best Value: The product with the highest cost-effectiveness in this product line.
  Best Creativity: The product with the most technological innovation in this product line. It is not just electronic technology, but also includes design innovations in appearance, structure, and craftsmanship.
